Banquet
I just got home from the gymnastics banquet. It was so great to see everyone-the girls, parents, coaches! The speech that was written for me was adorable and I absolutely loved it! I even won a BBQ basket from the lottery-although it's actually in a bowl not a basket. I really miss being at the gym everyday and working with the girls! The parents are all very supportive and really care about how I am doing! They always ask how they can help! Although I was in a lot of pain throughout the entire banquet I am really glad that I pushed myself to stay and spend time with everyone! Several of the parents even said that they were very happy that I was able to make it out tonight. I am really thankful that I was given the opportunity to be a team coach and rejoin the AJS family! I can't wait until I am able to get back to coaching!
My name is Jill and I am 29 years old. I am a former competitive gymnast and I have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (hEDS), Chiari Malformation- Type 1 (8.5mm herniation), craniocervical instability, Neurocardiogenic Syncope and POTS (forms of Dysautonomia and secondary conditions to EDS), slight/minor Mitral Valve Prolapse, bilateral acetabular hip dysplasia (corrected in a procedure called Periacetabular Osteotomy--PAO), gastroparesis and delayed intestinal motility, Hashimoto's, Graves', Autoimmune Neutropenia, and Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS).
