I was admitted twice to Yale by my surgeon in an attempt to stabilize the headaches and my condition in the inpatient setting. We tried IV steroids, consults with neurology and the pain team, a trial of Neurontin (again), MRI imaging, and during the second admission I had a PICC line placed. I had the PICC placed because I was stuck in a vicious cycle of nausea and vomiting and was severely dehydrated. I could not rehydrate adequately on my own (due to the nausea and vomiting) and peripheral IVs do not last long enough to receive fluids. I had the PICC in for 1 month and received fluids intravenously during that time. Though my headaches, that temporarily improved, ultimately returned, I was able to get my dehydration under control and stopped the vicious cycle. That was the only positive that came from of being admitted twice.
I recently had a lumbar puncture, which I will never agree to do again. That ruled out Intracranial Hypertension as the cause of my headaches, and now we are stuck without any options as we have basically tried everything.
As a result, and out of pure desperation, I have decided to try Baltic Amber in the form of a bracelet. If it helps, I will purchase a necklace. In fact, I may just invest in large quantities of it.
Here's how amber works:
Amber is fossilized tree resin that acts as a pain reliever, anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant. It is also believed to help restore and maintain wellness.
When the amber comes in contact with skin, it releases oils--namely succinic acid. As a result, it works to alleviate pain of varying degrees.
Generally speaking, the lighter the color of the bead, the higher the amount of oils it releases. It is supposed to be worn in constant contact with the skin.
People wear Baltic Amber for:
- Arthritis pain
- Teething
- Migraines/Headaches
- Carpal Tunnel
- Restless Leg Syndrome
- Joint pain
- TMJ
- Tendinitis
I am excited to receive my bracelet tomorrow and I am hopeful that is provides some relief. I have plenty of pain to go around. Surely it will alleviate some of it.
If I end up liking the product, I will provide the website for where I purchased my bracelet from.
